Working Conditions

The working conditions for midwives also vary depending on state and employer. Midwives generally work shift work (like the majority of nurses) but they can choose to work in areas which allow them to work a 9-5 schedule.

Midwives are greatly in demand in Australia, which means that they can work as agency midwives. This gives them greater flexibility to choose the hours they would like to work.
